Abstract: The aim of the research of this scientific paper is the demographic issue or the white plague that has shown its power and paralyzed societies and their economies both at the local level in the municipalities of Prilep, Kruševo, Dolneni and Krivogaštani and at the state level. The white plague with mortality, low birth rate and large migration has strongly affected the economy and local tourism and has left major consequences in providing an active working population. Field research, statistical data on the population and relevant literature have been used as a research methodology. Therefore, this scientific paper provides a complex picture of the numerical movement, gender, national structure, birth rate, mortality and migration of the young population, which is a trend from village to city, from city to city and a large number of young people are leaving the researched municipalities of Prilep, Kruševo, Dolneni and Krivogaštani and going abroad in search of a better life. The results of the research are quite worrying and interesting. As conclusions and recommendations, we should state that in the past ten years, the state has undertaken various state measures and policies to reduce the white plague, to increase the birth rate among young married couples, to employ young people after completing their education, to resolve the housing policy of young people by granting favorable bank loans for the purchase of real estate, all with the single goal of strengthening the number of the active working population.
